Getting Started — Teacher

Welcome to Tawaasal. As a teacher, you can manage homework, take attendance, enter grades, communicate with students and guardians, and more — all from one platform. This guide helps you get oriented quickly.

Logging In

  1. Open your browser and go to your school's Tawaasal URL (for example, yourschool.tawaasal.app).
  2. Enter your school code, then your email address and password.
  3. If your school has enabled Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), enter the verification code from your authenticator app.
  4. You will be taken to your Dashboard.
  1. Enter your school code — your school will have given you this, and sign-in will not work without it.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Enter your password.
  4. Sign In takes you to your Dashboard.
First-time Login

Your school administrator will have created your account. Check your email for an invitation with a link to set your password.

The Dashboard

Your dashboard shows a summary of your teaching day:

  • Your classes and upcoming schedule
  • Recent announcements from the school
  • Quick links to key areas like Homework, Attendance, and Grades
  • Notifications about pending items (submissions to review, etc.)
  1. Refresh reloads the dashboard data.
  2. Needs attention lists pending submissions and leave requests waiting on you.
  3. Quick Actions jumps straight to common tasks.
  4. Take Attendance opens attendance for your next class in one click.

Your Classes and Students

Your school administrator assigns you to specific classes and subjects. To see your students:

  1. Navigate to Students from the sidebar.
  2. You will see a list of all students in your assigned classes.
  3. Click on a student's name to view their profile, including attendance history, grades, and merit points.
  1. Refresh reloads the student list.
  2. Filter the list to one of your classes.
  3. Search for a student by name or email.

Your Schedule

View your weekly timetable:

  1. Navigate to My Schedule from the sidebar.
  2. Your teaching schedule is displayed in a weekly view showing your class periods, times, subjects, and rooms.
  1. Week shows the full weekly grid.
  2. Day shows the periods for a single day.
  3. Print Timetable produces a printable copy of the schedule.

Quick Start Checklist

After logging in for the first time:

  1. Check your schedule — Verify that your classes and subjects are correct.
  2. Review your students — Browse your student list to confirm the roster.
  3. View the calendar — Note any upcoming holidays or events.
  4. Set your preferences — Go to Preferences to set your language and notification settings.
  5. Explore homework — Try creating a test assignment to familiarize yourself with the workflow.

Parents Evening

When a parents evening event is scheduled, you can view your appointment schedule:

  1. Navigate to the parents evening event from the sidebar or events page.
  2. Open the View Schedule tab to see your booked time slots with guardians.
