School Trips

When your child's school organises a trip, you will see it listed as a School Trip event. Trips may require your consent before your child can participate.

Viewing Trip Details

Click on a school trip event to see:

  • Destination — Where the trip is going.
  • Date and Time — Including departure and expected return times.
  • Description — What the trip involves and what students should bring.
  • Fee — Whether there is a cost to participate (some trips are free).
  • Consent deadline — The date by which you must submit your response.
  • Additional information — Dress code, items to bring, or other instructions.
  1. Open the school trip event.
  2. You will see a consent form for each of your children who is eligible for the trip.
  3. Review the trip details carefully, including the consent deadline.
  4. If consenting, you may need to:
    • Confirm emergency contact — Provide or confirm an emergency contact name, phone number, and relationship for the trip. Use Use My Details to fill it in from your own profile.
    • Acknowledge medical profile — Confirm that your child's medical information on file is current and accurate.
    • Add notes (optional) — Include any information the school should know for the trip.
  5. Click Give Consent to approve your child's participation, or Decline Consent to decline it.

  2. Use My Details fills the emergency contact from your own profile.
  3. Enter the emergency contact name...
  4. ...and contact phone number.
Consent Deadline

You must submit your consent before the deadline shown on the trip. After the deadline, you will not be able to submit a response. If you miss the deadline, contact the school directly.

Trip Payments

If the trip has a fee:

  1. After giving consent, you will see the payment status for the trip.
  2. An invoice may be created for the trip fee.
  3. Complete the payment through the school's payment portal (see the Finance & Fees guide for payment instructions).
  4. Your child's participation is only fully confirmed once both consent and payment are complete.
StatusMeaning
PendingYou have not yet responded.
ConsentedYou have approved your child's participation.
DeclinedYou have declined your child's participation.

Confirmation Status

Your child's overall confirmation for a trip depends on multiple factors:

  • Consent has been given.
  • Payment has been made (if required).
  • Medical profile has been acknowledged (if required).

When all requirements are met, the status changes to Confirmed. Otherwise, it remains Unconfirmed.

Declining a Trip

If you do not want your child to participate:

  1. Open the trip consent form.
  2. Optionally add a note explaining your decision in the Notes field.
  3. Click Decline Consent.

General Events

General events (assemblies, sports days, cultural events) are displayed for your information. These typically do not require consent or payment — they are shared so you are aware of what is happening at school.

Event Reminders

Depending on your school's settings, you may receive reminder notifications before events. Check your Preferences to ensure event notifications are enabled.

Tips

  • Respond to consent forms promptly — Schools often have deadlines for trip consent. Submit your response as soon as you receive the notification.
  • Keep emergency contacts current — When providing trip emergency contacts, ensure the phone numbers are correct and the contact person is available during the trip.
  • Review medical information — Before acknowledging your child's medical profile, make sure all medical conditions, allergies, and medications are up to date. If anything has changed, submit a wellbeing update request (see the Wellbeing guide).
  • Pay fees on time — If a trip requires payment, complete it before the consent deadline to ensure your child's place is confirmed.
  • Download trip information — If the event includes attached documents (itinerary, packing list, etc.), download them for reference.
